Hautes Œuvres

Les formes de l’esprit

Hautes Œuvres is the fullest expression of creation at Santo de Piedra. Conceived with some of the most brilliant minds of our time, these collections allow an artistic intention to unfold through the composition of a spirit, the language of an object and the gestures that bring them into being. The freedom and exactitude of haute couture applied to the world of spirits guide their conception: each work calls upon the disciplines, materials and savoir-faire through which an idea may find its most complete expression. Mezcal carries the memory of our land into this encounter, opening towards forms of creation whose contours emerge through the work itself.

La Pastorale. A morning held in glass.

Six variations upon the memory of light.

In the fullest expression of La Pastorale, conceived with Massimo Bottura, a morning veiled in fog in Modena became the point of departure for six singular Murano decanters. Each returns to the same recollection, allowing the movement of glass, its depths and transparencies, to give a different presence to the light remembered within it. The gestures of the glassmaker carry that memory into matter, where the slightest inflection becomes part of the work.

Within the vessels, wild Tepeztate and juniper sustain the dialogue between Oaxaca and Modena. A barely perceptible variation in the composition was conceived to evolve patiently in the bottle, prolonging the intention of La Pastorale as a musical phrase continues to inhabit the silence after its last note.

Shaped by hand in Venetian glass, individually numbered and personally signed by Massimo Bottura, the six pieces bring this encounter to its most intimate scale. The judgement of our master distillers and the knowledge of Murano’s glassmakers meet within each one, giving a singular form to a shared intention. Together, they constitute a completed edition, whose number will remain unchanged.

Artis.

What fragrance
leaves in memory.

Conceived with Anne-Sophie Pic, Artis takes its name from art as an elevated expression of the human spirit. Between Oaxaca and Valence, the collection explores the elusive passage through which an aroma becomes a recollection, and a recollection acquires the intimacy of something lived. The depth of agave, the delicate presence of herbs and the persistence of smoke enter a composition guided by the chef’s aromatic sensibility and the knowledge of our master distillers.

Extraction, distillation and assemblage give this exploration its discipline. Through successive compositions, each ingredient reveals nuances that alter the perception of the others, until taste and fragrance begin to carry the same thought. Alongside the spirit, a vessel is taking shape within a historic French crystal house, whose name will be revealed when Artis is unveiled. Generations of knowledge live within its gestures, in the understanding of molten matter, the judgement of proportion and the patient work through which crystal acquires its particular relationship with light. This inheritance enters the composition of Artis, giving enduring form to what aroma holds only for a moment.

The essence of Herbs handpicked In Valence

The slow emergence of an œuvre.

Artis remains in creation, allowing the encounters from which it is composed to find their accord. The gestures of the chef, the distiller and the crystal maker carry the work towards a very limited collection, to be unveiled in 2027. Until then, the House will share selected moments of its becoming through private correspondence, preserving the time and discretion in which a creation finds its form.

Hautes Œuvres belongs to an order of discretion, in which each encounter is attended to personally through our Private Clients Service. From the first correspondence to the arrangements for delivery, every detail is considered in relation to the person receiving the work. This attention extends to privileged moments at the places of its creation and to gastronomic experiences composed by the House around the world, allowing the affinities from which each œuvre emerged to unfold in the lives of those to whom it is entrusted.
