Artis
by Anne-Sophie Pic
Artis Collectio by Anne Sophie Pic is born from an encounter between two ways of attending to the land and the ingredients it offers. Within the Santo de Piedra, agave, wood and fire carry the expression of San Luis del Río; within the chef’s work, aroma becomes a language through which flavour and memory are composed. Their dialogue unfolds through the gestures of perfumery and distillation, with each trial seeking a proportion, an affinity, a shared intention. Still in creation, the collection gives this encounter the time necessary to find its own form.

An encounter between philosophies, gestures and generations.

Anne-Sophie Pic
Anne Sophie Pic holds a singular place in French gastronomy, carrying an inheritance of four generations while giving it a deeply personal expression. Her authority rests upon a rare alliance of intuition and discipline, through which aroma becomes a means of understanding ingredients, awakening memory and composing taste. Herbs, flowers and the subtleties of bitterness enter a language of remarkable precision, where technique gives form to sensitivity and each gesture serves the depth of the composition.
Rooted in one of France’s great culinary lineages, she carries its continuity through a sustained exploration of flavour, drawing upon inherited knowledge while allowing her own perceptions to guide the work. This devotion to craft and transmission gives her cuisine its quiet assurance and its place within contemporary French creation. In Artis, her philosophy enters into dialogue with that of Santo de Piedra, bringing her understanding of aroma and the terroir of Oaxaca into a shared work, shaped by attention to the ingredient, the memory it holds and the gesture through which it is transformed.

The language of perfumery in dialogue with the traditions of mezcal.
The creation of Artis begins in San Luis del Río, Oaxaca, with agaves whose long maturation carries the character of the land. An assemblage developed with Anne Sophie Pic, allowing the aromatic depth of the mezcal to guide an encounter with herbs associated with Valence.
Approached through the disciplines of perfumery and extraction, these ingredients are studied for their nuances and the relationships they may reveal within the composition, with each trial refining the balance between their presence and the expression of the agave.
This dialogue continues through the savoir faire of a historic crystal house rooted in France, where the vessel is being conceived in relation to the spirit it will hold. The gestures of the distiller, the chef and the crystal maker contribute to a common intention, carried from the ingredient to its final form.

Artis remains in creation, ahead of its unveiling in 2027. As the work unfolds, the House will share selected moments of its development, allowing the collection to reveal itself in its own time. Those drawn to this dialogue are welcome to enter into correspondence with the House and follow its passage towards presentation.
