The Santo de Piedra Experimental Series has been conceived as a global journey—an exploration that weaves together legendary traditions, time-honored techniques, and diverse cultures into a singular expression of mezcal mastery.
For the inaugural release of the Santo de Piedra Experimental Series, we unite two legendary traditions: the art of shaping the terroir of Oaxaca, and the Scottish mastery of time and oak. This unprecedented collaboration, currently in development with Lochlea, an acclaimed independent single malt whisky maker, represents a meeting of worlds—earth and fire, time and craft.
Limited to just 3,000 bottles, this expression is crafted from 100% Jabalí agave, cooked over a custom wood blend, wild fermented, and double distilled. It is then matured for three years in Sherry casks previously used to age a singular Scotch whisky, infusing the spirit with deep, nuanced complexity. The result is a mezcal of remarkable character, offering notes of caramel and bergamot, wrapped in an ocher hue that evokes the warmth of autumn. Bold yet elegant, this release redefines the frontier between mezcal and whisky, tradition and experimentation.
This exceptional edition is expected to be available by the end of 2026, inviting collectors and connoisseurs to discover a new chapter in the story of mezcal.
